I just today met the three guys that founded a cool web design company, they invited me over for a chat after I plauged them by email to consider me as a possible additional resource for them.
What a blast. They liked my work (design, UI, standards, CSS and writing), the feeling is mutual.
They have built a healthy, great business and are obviously highly professional and successful (yes, this sounds like a ‘crawl’ but I really meant it).
Since I’m off to Canada they are reflecting on how we might work together and whether the Atlantic will be a stumbling block (or just an ocean with an IP connection over it 
We’ll see…
Regardless of outcome, it was a highly valueable experience for me and one my professional self-esteem has imeasureably benefitted from already. If you read this, thanks guys.
